A UConn Love Story by Zack Wussow

Last fall I did engagement photos for some fellow UConn alumni out on Horsebarn Hill. They must have liked those photos, because they had me come for their wedding too!

I met up with Anastasia and her bridesmaids yesterday at the hotel as Veronica put the finishing touches on their beautiful hair and makeup.

Across town, my second shooter was playing with their pup, Buckley, and catching the guys getting ready.

I went with the girls to West Wharf Beach in Madison for some posed photos...

...where I caught this amazing photo of her little brother. Sometimes things just work.

For the ceremony and reception we made our way to the Guilford Yacht Club. We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather for their short, beautiful ceremony on the south lawn.

The reception was a blast - good food, good music, a great crowd. Anastasia and Pearse's families are both amazingly fun and friendly.

I stayed through the end of the night for a special sendoff.

Altogether an amazing night - I expected nothing else from these two.

Congratulations, Anastasia and Pearse!

Windy Before The Wedding by Zack Wussow

(This shoot is from a couple months ago, but since this weekend is Sophy and Jeff's wedding, it seemed like a good time to share some engagement photos!)

I met Sophy and Jeff at Elizabeth Park for an engagement shoot on a beautiful but windy day. No trouble! Big celebrity photographers buy giant fans just to get that wind-swept look.

They also brought their adorable doxie Hannah, who was a really good sport and totally adorable.

It's prime time in Elizabeth Park, and we made sure to wave at the other photographers moving around with their subjects.

Can't wait to work with these two on their wedding day. Jeff - practice that natural smile! :)

An Uncommon Engagement Shoot by Zack Wussow

I met up with Marylou, Kevin, and their adorable dog (and Marylou's mom, professional dog wrangler) at Boston Commons on an overcast afternoon this weekend.

Despite the cold and the crowds we had no trouble getting lots of beautiful pictures for this couple and their pooch.

Also, I got the chance to do something I didn't even know I needed to do: take a photo on Acorn Street, arguably the most photographed street in the United States. I don't know if I believe that part, but it was definitely an amazing spot for some photos.

For a day I worried would get rained out, it went really well! I can't wait to work with Marylou and Kevin again for their wedding day!

Toddling Around Elizabeth Park by Zack Wussow

I don't do a ton of family portraits, but I knew Sarah's were going to be fun. Right off the bat, she sent me her favorite photos from their last family pictures, and they weren't the most perfect or idealized photos. They were the most candid, authentic photos, the ones that captured their daughter's personality.

I met Sarah, her husband, and their two daughters at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford on a pleasantly sunny November afternoon.

The kids were adorable but, no surprise, much less interested in photos than in playing soccer, exploring the stage and the "maze" of flowers, or playing with their beagle Theo. Who can blame them? But we got plenty of great photos of the family none-the-less...

..and plenty of goofy photos as well.

That last one cracks me up every time.
